This morning was to be a tentative attempt at Lingmoor Fell once again, and driving most of the way through thick inversion I was quite hopeful, but after coming through Chapel Stile and beginning to rev my way up the winding road towards Side Pike, I got my first glimpse of the sky above and it was completely clear blue. Nope nope nope, no thanks. Promptly did a 3 point turn and drove back, trying to think of the best place to go for a shot from within the inversion. I decided to head to Rydal Water to have a bash at shooting the boathouse from the far side of the water - just a matter of waiting until the sun burned through the fog to illuminate the boldly coloured foliage of the trees on the nearby small island.
